Take a morning flight to Lijiang. The old town has a history of almost a thousand years.The scences are unique and unconventional.It is one of the best-preserved historical,cultural cities at the state level in China.The population is 1.06 million involing 21 nationalities,the most famous one is Naxi ethnic minority, so you will have a good view of their special dress, culture, food, custom, etc. Lijiang, is famous in China for its old and simple architecture style and the elegant art for the lay-out of the town. In the town the Yuquan River winds in many streams across the town. Whatever street and whatever lane you go in, there is a small stream with small bridge across it here and there. As a poem has it: A house beside a stream with a small bridge across it makes a wonderful scene. |

Hike to Haba Village(5 Hrs), this is a beautiful trek aroud the Haba Snow Mounatin. Stay at Snow Sea Guesthouse where you will see the snow peak in the courtyard. Or you have another choice, driving to Haba in the morning, after having lunch, you can go to visit nearby Yi or Naxi ethnic village. Stay at Snow Sea Guesthouse. |

Drive to Sanba Village, visit Baishuidai(White Water Terrace) where the Naxi Culture originated. It is now the holy place for Naxi ceremonies. After lunch, drive to the Shangri-la: Zhongdian. |

Zhongdian, the gateway to Tibet, has only been opened to tourists since 1992. Experience authentic Tibetan culture in this mountainous region. You'll spend some time at altitudes above 9,000 feet. You'll visit a Tibetan village as well as Shudu Lake, a nature preserve with wonderful birdlife. Also visit Songzhanlin Monastery, where the Yellow Hat School of Tibetan Buddhism is practiced. This large center, house about 800 monks, is experiencing a significant rebirth. |
