Why Team up

The reasons are:

1) When a customer wants to sign in for a tour group, most likely there is no such a group for them to join in based on his/her specific tour interest.

2) Then He/she has to travel alone and the price for one-member independent group is usually expensive - so expensive, in fact, that a lot of customers are put off.

3) Or to have a better price, form a several-member group like 4 pax, 6 pax or 8 pax, here comes the question: is (are) my future companion(s) agreeable person(s) to travel with? Some customers have strong feelings against "such such persons" - we understand this: there is nothing more devastating to a beautiful trip than a "lousy" group member.

4) So, it seems there are two hurdles to overcome:

  1. how to lower the tour cost substantially - obviously, the major way is to form a bigger-size tour group;

  2. To form a bigger-size tour group, there must be a place where the lone travellers can exchange their ideas freely based on the tour interest and then find the ideals partner they can travel with.

5) Then, three things are done:

  1. A golfer won't be interested in teaming up with an avid hiker. Therefore, firstly, all the tour routes available are categorized into five most popular themes based on our 10 year's tour organizing experience in Yunnan. Secondly, all the tour programs can be sorted either by the number of hits or by the tour groups that have been organized on the programs - in this way, the tourists can know the popularity of a specific tour itinerary based on other tourists who have experience the travel in Yunnan with us.

  2. Found a tour program that looks interesting, the next step will be to find your partners to travel with. Every exsiting tour group has a BBS where you can talk to the members that have joined in. You may talk about:

The price: price is quoted for every program based on 2-3 pax, 4-5pax, 6-7 pax, 8 up pax. The more the members are, the lower the price is.

The itinerary: the itinerary can be customized with the consent of all the members.

Through talking with the group members, you can get to know them and then decide whether you want to go with them or leave. If you choose to leave, you can go on to try another group or create a new group based on your specific interest.

  1. Another great way to find the right route is to find those who have the same tour interest as you and look at what tour group they're joined. You can also run a search on the tour group memebers that share the same interest with you, and then find out what groups they've joined in.

6) To sum up, the advantages of using Team-up to arrange your tour program are:

  1. find interesting travel companions based on the same tour interest;

  2. lower down the tour cost;

  3. based on an itinerary provided, the tour program can be customized by themselves as per the specific requests of the group.

In a word, a tourist can define his/her group members, the price, the itinerary and finish all the travel arrangements to Yunnan Province online.

This is Team-up.

How to team up

Team-up Walk-Through

Method I Method II

Method I

Step 1

Look up a tour program by running a search on the tour routes using the keywords. Keywords can be the names of places of interests you want to go, such as lijiang, Shangri-la, Tiger-leaping gorge, etc.. It may help if you check the destination guide first.

Or look up a tour program by seeing the tour routes available categorized by five themes (cultural tour, ethnic/tribal encounter, hiking/treking and bird watching).

TOP

Step 2

Choose the tour route that is most appropriate to your need. Note the tour routes can be sorted by either number of hits or the tour group organized on the route - this will help you determine the popolarity of a tour route.

TOP

Step 3

Check the group info including: the itinerary, the price, the group size, the time for the start of the tour program, the sign-in deadline, the history groups organized.

And, every group comes with a tour organizer and a BBS. In BBS, you can ask any question to the tour organizer and talk about the program with the tour members that have joined in the group and the people who are also interested in the tour program as you.

Note:

1) you've to register before you participate in BBS discussion. The registration is quite simple and only takes 10-15 secondes.

2) all the people including the group members will talk in their users' names, not the real names - only after you've joined in the tour group and become a group member can you know the real identity of the group members.

TOP

Step 4

After some discussions, you may decide if you like the tour program and your future travel partners or not.

If you don't like the itinerary by some parts, you may talk with the group members to see if the itinerary can be customized. If all the group members think it's worth a try, the tour organizer will modify the itinerary as per the unanimous request of all the group members. If not, you may try another group or create your own group on another tour route.

And you'll get to know your future travel partners a little bit to see if you like to travel with them or not. If you like, join in the group; if not, try another one or create your own group on another tour route.

TOP

Step 5

To join in the group, first enter your users name and password, then the group members online sign-in form will come out. Fill in the form using your real full name, your passport no., your email and tel..

Note:

1) all the info are kept confidential except to your group members.

2) One user can only join in one group. To join in multiple groups, you maximize your chance to go with a group successfully organized before the sign-in deadline. But, your withdrawl from the other groups minimize other people's chance.

To create a group, register to become a user first if you've not done so. Then, fill in the group member online sign-in form.

As the initiator of the group, you should define the group size. The tour price is quoted based on different pax options: 2-3 pax, 4-5 pax, 6-7 pax, 8 up pax. You should also define the date for the start of the program and member sign-in deadline. The sign-in deadline should be at least 3 weeks ahead of the date for the start of the program so that we can have time to make all the reservations and accept the down payment.

TOP

Step 6

If everything goes well, a group is organized before the sign-in deadline. The next step for the tour members will be to make the down payment. The down payment will usually be 20% of the tour price and made by wire transfer - the tour organizer will email the account no. to you. You can make the remaining 80% payment after you've arrived in Kunming, met with the tour guide and checked in the hotel. Both cash and credit card payment are acceptable. The down payments should be paid within one week after the tour organizer email the payment notice.

To help speed up the whole process, you may fax or email the scanned copy of the payment statement form to us.

After the down payment is made, the tour organizer will either email or fax the contract for you to sign. Sign the contract and fax a copy back to us.

TOP

Step 7

But, what happens if a group is not organized before the sign-in deadline or a group member fails to make the down payment?

There are four options:

1) extend the sign-in deadline, and the date for the start of the program accordingly.

2) Accept the higher tour price. For example, if the expected group size is 6 pax and there are only 4 member to sign in, you may accept the higher tour price for 4 pax.

3) Merge with another group.

4) dismiss the group.

Everybody can have his/her own choice. If merging with another group happens, the system will provide you the closest group that matches your program in tour theme and itinerary. If you still can't find the suitable group to join in, then the group has to be dismissed.

Note:

We won't offer our service anymore to those who fail to make the down payment, withdraw from the group with no relevant reasons or uses the false identity to join in the group.

TOP

Step 8

Afer a group has been organized and the down payment has been made, you can check the bookings status provided by tour operator. The bookings usually include hotels, air tickets, the land transportaton vehicle, the tour guider's name and mobile phone, the driver's name, and the restaurants.

And for every group member, there is the airport meet time. The tour guide or our tour coordinator will meet you at the airport.

TOP

Step 9

After all members arrive, a meeting will be held - everybody meets each other and the tour guide, and then a celebration dinner thereafter.

TOP

Step 10

The start of the program.

TOP

Step 11

Finish the tour. The tour info will be added to the history groups organized sucessfully including the info as group size, the date for the start of the program, the sign-in deadline, the actual sign-in finish time and the itinerary. You may say anything freely about the tour and what you say will be on the "review" of the route so that the tourists can have the good recommendations or avoid the "tourist's trap".

Method II

Another great way to find the right route is to find those who have the same tour interest as you and look at what tour group they're joined.

Step 1

Select a theme or interest on the search box at the bottom of the page.

Step 2

Then comes a list including the tour members who have the same interest or theme.

Step 3

Click the "tour code" column to see what group they've joined in. Then, follow the step 3-11 in the Method I.

The registration just takes 15-20 seconds.

2. I've registered to be the user, why should I fill in "ANOTHER" form if I want join in a group?

The "ANOTHER" form is called "group member sign-in form" which includes your real name, your passport No., your email address and Tel. No.. These info is needed to book the hotels and air tickets. Only the group members in the same group know each other's true identity. The user can only know your user's name which doesn't have to be the real name.

3. Do you have a "Privacy Policy"?

Yes. It's very simple: Customer data is used only to process your tour program. We will never sell or give customer data to any other company, organization, or individual.

TOP

4. Can I still withdraw from the group after I've paid the 20% down payment?

Yes, but there is the cancellation fee. The cancellation fee will be determined according to the following formula:

Number of days prior to trip start Cancellation fee per person.

Over 30 days 50% of down payment
15-29 days 70% of down payment
7-14 days  80% of down payment
4-6 days  90% of down payment
0-3 days 100% of down payment

The cancellation fee will be used for two purposes:

1) The whole group could probably have to accept higher tour price due to your withdrawl. The cancellation fee is used to cover the higer price difference.
